Join us for this early summer experience in Iceland in late May 2017: most beautiful landscapes, long hours of sun, puffins that have returned for breeding – this is what makes this workshop special. With a very small group of max. four workshop participants we will keep a maximum of flexibility and discover the best photo spots at the right time.
Iceland is considered a paradise for landscape photographers for good reasons. We will take photos of impressive landscapes, beautiful waterfalls, bizarre rock formations and natural beaches.
Date May 29 – Jun 5, 2017
Type Landscape, Nature, Puffins
Participants 3 – 4
Photo Guide Jens
Fee 1.290 €
FULLY BOOKED – WAITING LIST AVAILABLE
We will choose accomodation that is typical for the country we’re visiting. All places are carefully selected (some of them equipped with private hot tub) and allow for single occupancy.
Date & Duration
The workshop takes place at the end of fringe season with the sun hours steadily increasing every day. At this time of the year, the likeliness to spot puffins is high, and we expect to experience beautiful sunsets.
Group Size & Price
The workshop fee is reasonably low given the very small group size. You will receive best value for your money, and there is sufficent time to instruct each workshop participant individually.
Sun will be shining from approx. 3:15 am to 11:15 pm. Our main focus will be on photographing landscapes after dinner for perfect light during sunsets. (This also means late breakfasts and travel during the day.)
We will meet on Monday afternoon in Iceland. With our spacious rental car we will head towards Selfoss where we will spend the first three nights.
We will examine many well known (and also some not so well known) spots that are in a max. two hours driving distance from Selfoss. This will include Gullfoss, Geysir, Brúarfoss, Hlauptungufoss, Gjáin (if accessible), Sigöldugljufur, Háifoss, Þjófafoss and many more.
On Thursday, we will head all way down to the South-East of Iceland where we will spend two nights in Höfn. From here we will explore glacier lagoons Jökulsárlón and Fjallsárlón as well as Vestrahorn (Stokksnes), one of Iceland’s most scenic and moody mountains.
On Saturday, we will head back towards Keflavík where we will spend the last two nights. We may stop at Skaftafell national park and hike upwards to Svartifoss, the black waterfall, and we will for sure explore the black beach of Vík with the Reynisdrangar rock formations.
We will spend the Sunday at Reykjanes peninsula which offers plenty of scenic locations for photography. The workshop ends the next morning at Keflavík airport.
